OTHER DAY-RELATED EVENTS: Photographs On certain days, and in certain locations, Cameron the Photographer will appear and offer to take a picture of you with your party. The Pokeathlon Dome is located in Johto, north of Goldenrod City, near the National Park. It is a mini-game thing similar to Contests. The store there offers different items depending on the day of the week. It will sell a mixture of Apricorns, Evolution Stones, and a few other things such as Dragon Scales, King's Rocks, PP UP, and MooMoo Milk. If you need a list of the specific items there is one on Serebii.net. More details about the above events: Week Siblings – The first time you meet a sibling, he/she will give you a held item. After you have met all of them, they will start giving out Ribbons instead. The Bug Catching Contest is located in Johto, north of Goldenrod City, in the National Park. You have 20 park balls and 20 minutes to catch a pokemon to be judged (and you can exit early if you want). Only the first pokemon in your party can be used to help you in the contest. Only one bug pokemon can be judged, so if you catch more than one, you must decide to let them go or replace your previously caught pokemon. You get to keep the judged pokemon. More bug species start to appear after you get the National Dex. Bug Catching Contest Prizes:
The Hairdressers of Goldenrod City improve your pokemon’s friendship/happiness rating by grooming them. Pokemon “looks a little happier” = Friendship was increased by +1.
The Older Brother is more reliable and consistent; he has a higher chance to get a good rating. He is more expensive at 500P.
Remember that massages (including Daisy Oak's massages) also increase your pokemon's Beauty, a stat which is hidden in HG/SS but visible in D/P/Pt. Beauty can improve your pokemon's performance in Sinnoh Contests, otherwise it is useless, except for evolving Feebas into Milotic. SS Aqua - The ship has some trainers on it whom you can battle each time you board. You need an SS Ticket to ride, which is given to you by Professor Elm after you beat the Elite Four for the first time. Rival Rematch in Indigo Plateau – Your rival will challenge you up the stairs of the Indigo Plateau. His pokemon are around levels 55-60. He will only start appearing after you have fought the double battle with him against Clair & Lance in the Dragon Den. Gym Leader Rematches – These are a little complicated at first. To rebattle a Gym Leader, you first need to find them and get their phone number on your PokeGear. You can find them by going to a certain location at a certain time. After you have a Gym Leader’s number, you can call them at another specific time to ask for a rematch. He/She will be waiting for you at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City, Kanto. They will wait there forever until you battle them... In these rematches all of their pokemon will be around levels 50-60 (with the exception of Blue, whose pokemon will be around level 70). Occasionally, when trainers call you on the PokeGear, you'll get clues about how you may find one of the gym leaders. But I have listed when/where to find them to get their phone numbers here (you only have to do this once in the game):
